This is an article about How to save the GC column. If you are interested, please contact us!

Gas chromatography columns are widely used in petroleum, chemical, biochemical, medical and health, food industry, environmental protection and other fields. In addition to quantitative and qualitative analysis, it can also determine the physicochemical constants such as partition coefficient, activity coefficient, molecular weight and specific surface area of ??the sample on the stationary phase. The storage conditions of the GC column affect the life of the GC column. The storage solution should contain at least 20% organic solvent to prevent the growth of microorganisms.

1. Daily maintenance after the experiment: use buffer or salt-containing mobile phase. After the experiment is completed, rinse with 10% methanol/water for 30 minutes, wash off the salt in the GC column, and rinse with methanol for 30 minutes. Note: The column should not be rinsed with pure water. 10% methanol should be added to the water to prevent the packing from collapsing.

2. If the column is to be stored for a long time, it must be stored in a suitable solvent. For the reverse phase column, it can be stored in pure methanol or acetonitrile. The normal phase column can be stored in pure n-hexane after dehydration. The ion exchange GC column can be stored in water (containing preservative sodium azide or thimerosal). Plug the plug that came with the purchase of the new column. The stored temperature is preferably room temperature.

This is the end of the introduction of How to save the GC column. I hope it can help you.
